"Illustrated
Songs - Les Moritates"
Sza-Sza Brons and Pierrick present a new animation around the barrel
organ. The street singers, at the Time, showed images under the form
of tables or panels (Moritate). Those were illustrating the history
of the interpreted song. Most of the time those songs were about some
real events. They replaced the newspapers thus the news could also circulate.
This idea inspired the Company Paris Canaille for this innovation "all
public", with always the chorus of the songs to be sing all together.
